SMM - Wall Grids

These technical conditions define the range of manufactured dimensions and designs of grilles. These technical conditions apply to manufacture, designing, ordering, delivery, installation, and operation.

I. GENERAL

1. Description

Grilles serve to cover the openings of ventilation ducts in air-conditioned, ventilated and heated rooms.

Grilles supplied are made of aluminium sections. They consist of a rectangular frame, parallel blades and strut pipes. Fixing frames made of galvanized sheet with fixtures can also be included in the supply as required.

The tightness of grilles is ensured along the perimeter by means of sealing.

There can be delivered grids of aluminum sections with concealed fastening by means of spring clips or with fastening by means of screws. They consist of a rectangular frame, parallel lamellas and spacing tubes. Fixation frames of galvanized
sheet can also be delivered. The tightness of the grids is ensured by a seal along the periphery.

2. Design

Grilles are supplied in a single row version with blades pitched at 12.5 mm or 20 mm. Fixing frames are supplied in a UR1 version with screwed fixtures or UR2 with fixtures intended for immuring.

Grilles should be installed in 3K5 class environment protected against weather conditions according to ČSN EN 60 721-3-3 and in BNV rooms according to ČSN EN 1127-1.

5. Location, Installation

Grilles are intended for installation in building structures or piping.

Installation examples
a) Building structures
- by means of threaded rods and UR1 fixing frames with screwed fixtures (grilles on both sides of a building structure)
- by means of UR2 fixing frame with immured fixtures
b) Piping
- by means of UR1 fixing frame. Anchor the frame to the piping by riveting. Fix the grille to the frame by using self-drilling screws. - without fixing frame by means of self-drilling screws
The delivery of grille and fixing frame includes only self-drilling screws and covers (to connect the grille with the frame). Other material is not included in the delivery.

IV. MATERIAL

Grille components are made of drawn aluminium sections. Section surfaces are eloxal coated. Fixing frames with fixtures are made of galvanized sheet. The sealing along the grille perimeter is made of plastic foam self-adhesive tape.

V. PACKING, TRANSPORT, ACCEPTANCE, STORAGE

Grilles are packed separately in cardboard boxes wrapped in shrinking foil. Transport is made by covered transportation means. As agreed upon with the manufacturer, grilles may be transported on pallets. When handled during transport and storage, grilles must be protected against mechanical damage.

Unless the acceptance procedure is defined in the order, the disposition of grilles to the carrier will be considered the acceptance of grilles by the customer.

Grilles must be stored in closed premises, in environment free from aggressive vapours, gases and dust.

The manufacturer grants an 18-month guarantee for grilles after the date of operation start, however maximum 24 months after the date of dispatching.
